How to Condition Long Hair

Long hair is very prone to being dry. Add in intense styling to your long hair and it will be as brittle and dry as straw. To stop this from happening you need to condition your long hair every time you wash your hair. Follow these easy steps to condition long hair to keep it healthy.

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 bottle hair conditioner
  1. Step 1

    Squeeze a quarter size blob of hair conditioner into the palm of your hand to condition your long hair. Depending on how thick and long your hair is, you may need more conditioner to properly condition your hair.

  2. Step 2

    Apply the conditioner to the ends of your long hair first. Work the conditioner into the ends of your hair before you move onto the rest of your long hair.

  3. Step 3

    Apply the conditioner to the rest of your long hair, massaging it in as you go.

  4. Step 4

    Allow the conditioner to sit on your hair for 2 minutes before rinsing to let it penetrate fully into your long hair.

  5. Step 5

    Rinse the conditioner out of your long hair. Make sure not to leave any conditioner in your hair for this can lead to build up on your scalp.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use this technique to condition your long hair every time that you wash. Find a conditioner that is formulated for long hair to get the most of of your conditioning treatment.
  • If you are find that your scalp is getting greasy from all this conditioning of your long hair, alternate conditioning only the ends of your hair with your whole head of hair.
