Buying leads seems like the perfect way to get targeted leads for a MLM business. But, it can be very expensive. The leads may be old and they may have been sold before. To stop buying leads for an MLM business, the business owner will have to find the leads himself.

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer
  • Internet Access
  1. Step 1

Find your own leads the way that lead companies do. Have people sign up for a newsletter about a subject about what you are selling. You can get your own targeted leads by creating a newsletter that is sent out to people who sign up for it. An autoresponder then sends out the newsletter to the people on the email list. The names and email addresses are gathered from interested people and are used as a mailing list to send the newsletter to. The newsletter will contain free information about the topic, plus it will mention the products and supply readers with a way to purchase them.

  2. Step 2

Look for forums about similar topics. There are always people with an interest in the items at forums like that, and many will be interested in selling the item. A downlist can be created out of people from forums and the people they refer. Many people want their own business, so the lead will be gotten by the way it is presented to the forum. Ask for contact information from interested posters and keep them on your lead list. You can send them a newsletter if you have one or you can send them just the information about the products.

  3. Step 3

Start a website where you can advertise your products. Have a sign up sheet where people can sign up for the newsletter or to request more information about your products. Stay in contact with people who have questions and be sure to follow up with them to make sure all questions were answered effectively.

  4. Step 4

Give away a free ebook that concerns something similar to the items you sell. Free ebooks are highly sought after and will attract readers who have any interest in the topic. Hire someone to write the ebook and to weave information about your products throughout it. As an appendix create an area about how to sell the products and how to contact you to sign up to sell them.

  5. Step 5

Tell friends, co-workers and acquaintances that you sell the products. You don't have to be pushy, but make sure they have your business card, in case they ever have an interest in buying from you or selling as a part of your downline.
