Step 1
Place several heads of garlic on a cutting board and slice off the tops leaving just the tops of the cloves exposed.

Baste the tops of the garlic heads with olive oil, lightly. Sprinkle with salt.

Place the garlic heads on a sheet of tin foil as some of the garlic may overflow during baking.

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.

Place the pan with the garlic in the oven and bake for 20-30 minutes or until soft and the tops are brown. Do not over bake. Check every 10 minutes to ensure that the garlic isn't too brown.

Serve with Brie or Camembert cheese, apple or pear slices and rustic bread or baguette.
