Gather your gold

With the price of Gold soaring, and money in short supply, many people are selling off their gold. What is the easiest and fastest way to sell your gold? Attend a "Gold Rush Party" of course. Likened to the familiar Tupperware parties, people come and go, buying and selling gold. Spurred on by record high Gold prices, people need the money because gas prices are at record highs as well. How do you attend a gold rush party?

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Gold jewelry
  • Dental gold
  • Broken pieces of Gold
  • Gold coins
  1. Step 1

Look through your jewelry box for anything with gold, silver, platinum, or precious stones that you are no longer using. It doesn't matter if it is broken; the buyers are going to melt it down anyway. Add in any gold coins that are not worth more than their weight as a collector's item.

  2. Step 2

Find your driver's license or photo identification. ID, thumbprint, and your signature, stating that you have the right to sell the gold are required for each transaction.

  3. Step 3

Find the date, time, and location for the next Gold Rush Party, nearest you. You will probably need to travel to a large city. Google Gold Rush Party with your state. Check your newspaper classifieds and listen to local radio stations to find gold rush parties.

  4. Step 4

Drive to the "Gold Rush Party," with your gold and sell it.

  5. Step 5

Put most of the money aside for bills, or pay current bills, but enjoy some it. You didn't expect to receive this much money anyway, so why not party a little. Buy yourself a new outfit or go out to dinner.

Tips & Warnings
  • You may want to get an estimate from a local pawnshop or gold buyer before you attend the Gold Rush party, just to make sure the prices are fair.
  • If you have old coins, contact a collector, they may be worth more that way.
  • Do not brag about your gold that you are going to sell because someone might steal it.
  • If you stop anywhere on the way to sell your gold, do not leave it out in plain sight.

on 12/23/2008 I personally would not attend a Gold Party unless it was at a home of a friend or at an organization I was familiar with. I sold my gold at www.YourGold.com. They treated me great and gave me more than I expected for my unwanted gold items.
