How to Make Summer Rum Slushies

Give your guests a taste of the tropics with rum slushies.

Rum is a sweet liquor made from sugar cane and aged in barrels. For a delicious and refreshing summer drink, mix rum with fruit to create blender drinks. Use dark rum or flavored rum. Serve in tall glasses or goblets and garnish with sliced strawberries or pineapples. This recipe serves six.

Things You'll Need

• 6 ounces rum
• 4 ounces canned frozen limeade concentrate
• 1/2 cup pineapple juice
• 4 to 5 strawberries
• 2 cups ice

Instructions

1. Combine rum, limeade, pineapple juice and strawberries in a blender. Use the "Pulse" button to pulse several times.

2. Add ice cubes a few at a time through the lid with the blender on "Blend."

3. Blend until slushy.

4. Pour into glasses and garnish with fruit.

Tips & Warnings

• Add mint and seasonal fresh fruit for added zing.

• Remember the legal drinking age is 21.
