Washing a trombone then packing it for the summer (or for a period of time) is a big deal. When you open it back up, you want to make sure its safe and doesn't get dented.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Bath tub
  • dish soap
  • towel
  • trombone snake
  1. Step 1

Put a towel on the bath tub and put you're trombone on top. Remember to take apart your trombone before putting it in the tub.

  2. Step 2

Fill it up so its above the bell. Use lukewarm water.

  3. Step 3

Take out gentle dish soap (I use dawn). Then let it soak for ten minutes. Then wipe off any oil and grease left on the trombone.

  4. Step 4

Then run your trombone snake through and clean the mouthpiece. Oil the slide after the horn is dry.

Tips & Warnings
  • DO NOT use hot water, or it will lick the covering right off. If you feel the water is too warm, don't be afraid to make the water colder.
