New fathers are often nervous and apprehensive. Writing your husband a poem letting him know that you think he'll be a great father could go a long way towards calming his fears. Here are some tips to help you with the poem.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Time
  • Love
  • Pen, pencil or a computer
  • Paper
  1. Step 1

First, you need to get a scrap piece of paper and write down all the traits you love about your husband that you think will make him a great father. Some of the traits you may want to focus on are personality, understanding nature, intelligence, kindness, and even responsibility.

  2. Step 2

Now that you have your list, you can start to put it into poem form. Be descriptive and let your feelings flow freely. You want your husband to feel that you mean every word you are saying in the poem. Let the emotions overflow! Put the traits you listed above together with descriptive words that make complete thoughts. You should strive for at least three verses in the poem. Here is an example verse:

A child could not have a better father
    Your love and understanding
    Your laughter and kindness
Your loving guidance will lead our daughter

  3. Step 3

After you get the poem complete you can type it on your computer and print it out on very nice paper. Then, you can either make it into a card to present to your husband, or frame it for him to cherish for years to come.

Tips & Warnings
  • Put lots of emotion into the poem
