If you have ever dropped your cell phone in a puddle, or even the toilet, then you know what it is like to watch a hundred dollars or more go right down the drain. Well this article will give you tips on how to rescue a cell phone that has been immersed in water. You no longer have to fear about lost contacts, expensive replacements, or being without the use of your phone.

Things You'll Need:

    Battery

Remove the battery if your cell phone has been in contact with water. There will be far less damage to circuits if you remove the power source immediately. Do not even think about it. This needs to happen right away, preferably while the phone is still immersed.

  2. Step 2
    Sim Card

Remove as much moisture as you can by using paper towel, a vacuum or rag. Do NOT use a blow dryer, even on cool blow it can still force wetness into small crevices.

Next, place your phone, with the cover still removed, into a seal able bag full of uncooked rice. The rice will help to eliminate any existing moisture inside of the circuits.

Test your phone the next day. Put your battery back in. If it still doesn't work, remove the battery and plug your phone into a wall charger. If this works it means you need a new battery. If you are still unable to use it you may want to take it to a dealer as a last ditch effort to save your cell phone.
