Candle making is a great money making opportunity and is perfect for a home-based business.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

You'll first need to decide what types of candles you would like to make, including the materials to use, scents to add, and process in which you'll use. This can easily be decided by doing some research on the different options. There are also many kits available for making candles that could get you started quickly and easily. Links have been provided below, under the resources heading for researching how-to make candles, as well as different options.

  2. Step 2

Once you have determined the type of candles you will be making, you will then need to decide how you will market and sell your products. There are many options for this both locally and online. For a local market, think about businesses in which you could network with, such as gift basket businesses, local home decor shops, etc. The internet provides options such as online auctions, an e-commerce website, etc.

  3. Step 3

Once you have a steady stream of sales, you can begin to build your business by using additional methods and placing ads to reach your target market. These types of ads will provide individual sales from the general public and are simply an add-on to the business, so this is not recommended as a starting point.

  4. Step 4
