Here is an easy way to organize your clothes closet in just 60 to 90 minutes. Follow these four simple steps to eliminated wasted space and have picture perfect closets in minutes.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Identify Your Keepers. These are the clothes that make you look great personally or professionally. They are the clothes you consistently reach for when you want to look and feel your best.

  2. Step 2

Sack Your Misfits. These are clothes you hope to wear after you lose weight. If you still hope to wear them someday, put them in a box and try them on in six months. If they don't fit by then, donate them to a charity.

  3. Step 3

Discard Dated Clothing. These are clothes you loved once but no longer wear. Give yourself a reality check: Are you really going to redesign an old bridesmaid dress or wear the classic navy suit you bought for a job interview five years ago?

  4. Step 4

Divide and Conquer. Organize your keepers into the following sections: sports, casual, office and party clothes. Give the clothing category you use most often prime space so you can get dressed quickly.

Tips & Warnings
  • 1. You can expand your storage space with a wide range or closet organizers: shoe organizers, sweater boxes, double hanging rods, and underbed storage boxes.
  • 2. Donate clothes that don't fit to a local charity or send them to a consignment shop.
  • 3. Give outdated clothing to the drama department at your local high school, college, or local theatre group.
  • 4. Save money. Before you shop, check your newly organized closet and make a list of exactly what you need. This will also help you avoid buying duplicates.
