Make a printable chore chart for your kids just in time for summer and they will love it.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Calendar or graphics software
  • score cards
  • balance sheets
  • savings goals
  • rewards or prizes
  1. Step 1

Use your software to design a format for your printable chore chart and sit down with your kids and agree on tasks.

  2. Step 2

Have your kids rate the task and assign total possible points to each one. Have a scale of minimum to maximum points allowed for each task based upon an agreed upon criteria.

  3. Step 3

Be sure you have set up your chart so that it is printable and you can post the chore chart in a visible place for your kids.

  4. Step 4

Have the kids check each task off when finished.

  5. Step 5

Parents grade each task that has been accomplished and assign total points earned by kids for each chore on the chart.

  6. Step 6

Give your kids a mission or sliding scale towards a total number of points leading to their final reward. Depending on the level of difficulty the kids can earn a bigger reward by completing a particular mission.

Tips & Warnings
  • Challenge your kids with different levels of missions and have them complete the easiest (level 1) before moving to a more difficult level.
  • Give your children challenging but attainable goals and have them agree on them
  • Use coupon books as benchmark prizes along the way to keep them focused and striving to complete their missions
