Things You'll Need:
- Wedding Invitation
- Clothing appropriate for the occasion.
-
Step 1
RSVP at your earliest convenience. Most people put off RSVPing until the last minute or never mail the card back. It's better to RSVP and not attend than to not RSVP and still show up. Most caterers require a firm number of guest so not RSVPing can cause problems for the bride and groom.
-
Step 2
Read the invitation throughly. This will give you clues regarding the type of ceremony the bride and groom are planning. Wording of invitations can clue you into how formal the ceremony and reception will be.
-
Step 3
Notice how the invitation is addressed. Some couples do not want guests to bring their children. If there is any confusion about children or additional guest being invited contact a member of the bridal party ahead of time.
-
Step 4
Dress appropriately. Men and women should both take the time to dress accordingly. Never wear clothing that is too reveling or in poor condition. Depending on the wording of the invitation you can determine whether a less formal dress is appropriate for the ceremony.
-
Step 5
Mail your gift to the home of the bride and the groom. The bride and groom don't need to worry about how they are going to get their gifts home after the ceremony.
-
Step 6
Leave early for the wedding. If you arrive after the wedding has begun you can try to slip in however doing so may draw attention away from the couple and on you. If you are late sit in the back to avoid being a distraction.
