    Instructions

    Things You'll Need

    • A sorority
    • College campus
    • A close friend or roommate
    • Patience
    • Adventurous spirit
      • 1

Know what sort of sorority you're trying to get into. Some sororities are known for their upbeat parties and some are known as the academically-motivated types. If you sign up to pledge any kind of sorority, be sure to study up on their reputation and what to expect.

Go through it with a friend or roommate. Pledging any sorority can be a stressful and time-consuming ordeal. If you go through it, enlist the help of a girlfriend. That way, you'll have someone to vent your frustrations to throughout the process.

      • 3

Manage your time constructively. If you have a bunch of exams and papers due, it may be wise to put off rushing a sorority. If you can multi-task well, make a schedule and stick to it.

      • 4

Be open-minded. If you want to RUSH a sorority, you may be asked to perform outlandish activities. Many colleges have rules against hazing, but some sororities still participate in these actions. RUSH a sorority that doesn't demand hazing rituals if you aren't open to being embarassed or put on the spot.

      • 5

Stay hydrated and eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. During pledge week, many candidates don't get enough sleep and consume all too much booze. By fortifying your diet with vitamins and nutrient-rich foods, you'll keep yourself stronger.

Keep your eye on the prize. Every time you get down and wish to quit, remember that by being inducted into a sorority, you'll gain a whole group of girlfriends who will soon become sisters. Being in a sorority looks great on your resume and will provide you with lifelong friends.

    Tips & Warnings

    • Always follow your gut instinct. If something doesn't feel right, don't do it.

    • Never RUSH a sorority if you're doing it for the wrong reasons. These organizations aren't all about parties and meeting boys. If you aren't willing to commit to doing community service and maintaining a certain grade point average, you probably shouldn't RUSH.
