Applying for an ROTC Scholarship out of High School

Get good grades in high school. Your first step to an ROTC scholarship is to get good grades in school. The ROTC scholarship application process is competitive and starting early in your high school career will help you appear more attractive to those viewing the applications.

Prior to graduation, visit the Navy, Army or Air Force ROTC sites. You can fill out and submit your application online.

Decide what kind of scholarship you would like. Scholarships range from one year to a full-ride tuition scholarship. Additionally, you can secure extra scholarship dollars to pay for books and supplies and living expenses. Living expenses range from $300 to $500 per month and can significantly improve your quality of life in college.

Get to know your ROTC instructors. They can help you on your path to becoming an officer and guide you in the right direction in terms of career. They can also help you prepare for military life.
