-
Step 3
Create a title for your new resume in the “resume' basics" area. This will give you and potential employers the chance to quickly identify it. Choose a name that is descriptive of your intended job, such as “customer service representative” or “experienced sales associate”. Having a good working title that specifically captures your skills in just a few words will help to stand out. Employers look at thousands of resume's on a daily basis and sometimes they only have a second to glance at an employee's information.
-
Step 4
Select the option to make your newly created resume' either private or public. If you do not want employers to easily find your resume' on Monster.com, then select the private option. It will not show up in any search records for employers to find. On the other hand, if you want it to be easily found, then choose the public option. You'll also have the chance to make some of your personal information hidden. Instead of having your name, phone number, or email address shown, the data will remain hidden and the resume will only show necessary information.
-
Step 5
Add your work experience to the “work experience” section. Start with your most recent job position. Enter the company name, location, your job title, and the dates you worked there. There will also be a small section for you to briefly describe some of the duties and tasks you were responsible for. This section will give you the perfect opportunity to shine. You'll be able to show a potential employer that you can handle multiple tasks successfully.
-
Step 6
Fill out the “education” section of this online resume' builder. You'll have the chance to include details about your degree level, name of your school, the dates attended, and any other relevant information. This section will also allow you to point out any extra skills, honors, or even your GPA. Potential employers love hearing about your accomplishments. This shows them that you are willing to go the extra distance and excel in multiple tasks.
-
Step 7
Complete the details in the “target job” and “target job location” areas. You'll be able to specify the type of job you desire, its status, the industry, and even it's location. This area will help the potential employer understand exactly what you are looking for. It will also let an employer know if you are willing to relocate to a different location or just stay in the immediate area.
-
Step 8
Save your completed resume' to the Monster.com database. It will be available for you to view, make changes to, or print. Once you are ready to make your newly created resume printable, just select the “print” link. A new window with the resume' information will appear, so make sure that you do not have any “pop up blockers” activated. You can quickly scan through the printable resume' before doing anything else. Choose to print the resume' when you are ready to do so. Now, you'll be able to hand a potential employer a copy of your completed resume'.
