Mini Easter baskets are perfect for children to hand out to their classmates at Easter. They make great gifts from Sunday School teachers to their students. They are fairly easy to put together, but they are a little time consuming depending on the number of children you are making them for. Make sure you set aside a whole afternoon to make these mini paper Easter baskets.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Pastel colored construction paper
  • Stapler
  • Markers
  • Scissors
  • Easter grass
  • Plastic eggs
  • Bag of Hershey's kisses
  1. Step 1

Choose a color for your first basket out of your construction paper. Cut out a large square and a strip about 1 1/2-2 inches wide and about 10 inches long. This strip is for the baskets handle.

  2. Step 2

Fold each of your four sides of your square over to create a crease. You want to fold over as much of the side as you would like your basket to be high. About 1-1 1/2 inches is fine.

  3. Step 3

Use your scissors to cut one of the creases on each of the four corners and then fold the extra piece of construction paper in and to the side. Staple it right there. When you are done all four corners you will have your basket complete.

  4. Step 4

Staple the strip you cut out in Step #1 to two of the side of your new basket. That creates the handle.

  5. Step 5

Use your markers to decorate your mini Easter basket. Be creative and think about things you might find in the spring. If you have a certain student or friend in mind for that basket you can write their name on it. You can write the name on the side of the basket or across the top of the handle.

  6. Step 6

Add a bit of Easter grass to the inside of the basket for effect. If you don't have Easter grass you can cut up strips of newspaper and paint them green.

  7. Step 7

Take one of your Hershey kisses and place it inside a plastic egg. Place the plastic egg inside your new mini basket right on top of the Easter grass.

  8. Step 8

Give to your student or your friend.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you don't have a stapler you can use glue. It will just take longer to complete.
  • You can type up an Easter scripture verse and add it to the inside of your plastic egg before placing it in the basket.
