Things You'll Need:
- Wing sauce, wings, cookie sheet and peppers.
-
Step 1
The first step in any food preparation is the food itself. In this case we are talking about chicken wings and the options are numerous. Most grocery stores offer frozen packages of wings and drummettes, which work fine. Something that has become very popular is the boneless wing, but they are expensive and just seem more like chicken strips. However, either one will work, because the real taste is in the sauce.
-
Step 2
The Buffalo wing sauce is really not that difficult, just pick some up off the shelf. What type is a personal taste, but make sure there is enough to drown the wings in sauce, prior to cooking. The last item is critical for hot/spicy wings -- jalapeno peppers. Head to the produce section and pick up some jalapeno peppers, for the real daring toss in a couple of habanero peppers.
-
Step 3
Most wings will be sold frozen, so obviously thawing the wings is the first step in preparation. After the wings have thawn, put them in a large bowl and simply pour the sauce over them, but keep a bottle. Make sure each piece is liberally covered and coated with sauce. Let the wings sit another 24 hours in the refrigrator, stirring them a couple of times. This will ensure each wing is covered.
-
Step 4
Time for cooking. Turn the oven to about 375-400 degrees. Remove the wings from the refrigerator and put the wings on a large cookie sheet. It is so the inside is exposed. Do not cut completely through the pepper. Place two to three peppers on the sheet with the wings and place them in the oven. It will take roughly 20 to 30 minutes to cook the wings, but it is crucial to make sure the chicken is completely cooked.
-
Step 5
When the chicken is done, remove the wings from the tray and put them off to the side. Take the juices from the sheet and pour it in a bowl. Add in the left over sauce and chopped peppers. Stir the sauce mixing the peppers, juice and sauce. Then dip the wings back in the sauce, heavily coating them. Place the wings in a slow cooker to reheat them and serve with celery and blue cheese.
