How to Make a Sidecar

Known for its smoothness, the sidecar was reportedly invented in Paris during World War I. Fresh ingredients are the key to making this drink. Serves one.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Cracked Ice
  • Granulated Sugar
  • Lemons Rind
  • Chilled Cocktail Glasses
  • Cocktail Shaker
  • Cocktail Strainer
  • 1 oz. lemon juices
  • 1 oz. brandy
  • 1 oz. triple sec

Step1
Rub a lemon rind along the rim of a chilled cocktail glass.
Step2
Dip the rim in granulated sugar.
Step3
Put cracked ice in a shaker.
Step4
Add one ounce of Triple Sec, one ounce of lemon juice, and one ounce of brandy.
Step5
Shake six times.
Step6
Strain into the glass.
Step7
Garnish with a lemon wedge.

Tips & Warnings

  • Put the sugar into a saucer and twist the rim of the glass in it just a little bit. The juice will hold the sugar on the rim.
  • Mixed drinks contain alcohol, so use moderation.
  • Never drink and drive.
