Pound cake glaze is a delicious way to dress up any plain cake. You can make a pound cake glaze that will take an ordinary cake to extraordinary with just a few simple ingredients. Pound cake glaze can even be poured on a store bought pound cake. Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 3 tbsp. Milk
  • 3 tbsp. Unsalted Butter
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla Extract
  • Mixing bowl
  • Rubber spatula
  • Small saucepan

Instructions

      Melt 3 tbsp. unsalted butter in a small saucepan on the stove top.

      Remove saucepan from stove when butter is completely melted.

      Add 1 cup powdered sugar, 3 tbsp. milk and 1 tsp. vanilla to the saucepan containing the melted butter.

      Stir glaze in saucepan with a spatula until smooth.

      Pour hot glaze over warm pound cake.

      Serve, and let your guests know that you made the glaze yourself!

Tips & Warnings

  • You may substitute lemon or coconut extract for the vanilla.

  • Don't glaze a cold cake. Warm up a store bought one in the microwave if you aren't baking the cake yourself.
