Instructions

  1. How to Make Necklaces From Melon Seeds

    • 1

Collect the seeds from the melons. You can make the necklace completely with seeds from one melon or use a variety of seeds.

    • 2

Remove any pulp and rinse the seeds carefully. Store the seeds in water until you have enough to make a necklace. The amount will depend upon how big the necklace will be. Unless you serve a lot of melons at a backyard barbeque, it might take a while to gather enough seeds. As a result, you will need to pour out old water and add fresh water every couple of days.

    • 3

Measure the nylon string for the necklace. Use enough nylon string to make the necklace and then add several more inches, to allow for attaching the connectors. Attach one of the connectors to the end of the nylon string and thread the needle with the other end.

    • 4

Take a seed out of the water and insert the needle into the center of the seed. Pull the needle through carefully so you don’t break the seed. Continue threading the seeds until the necklace is the length you want.

    • 5

Attach the other connector and clasp it to the first connector. Hang the necklace until the seeds are completely dry.
