How to Clean a Coffee Maker

Over time, a coffee maker can get somewhat dirty. Make coffee taste better by cleaning the coffee maker on a regular basis.

• Coffee maker
• Dish soap
• Water
• White vinegar

Clean a Coffee Maker

1. Fill the water reservoir with a solution of one part white vinegar to two parts cold water.

2. Run the coffee pot as usual.

3. Let the machine cool, then run a full pot of cold, clear water.

4. Repeat Step 3 if needed.

5. Wash the filter basket and the decanter in hot, soapy water.

6. Wipe the outside with a soapy sponge or disposable disinfecting wipe.

Tips & Warnings

• Use this method to clean out the coffee pot once a month to maintain a working machine that keeps making fresh pots of great-tasting coffee.
• Never wash the decanter in the dishwasher. The intense heat could cause it to shatter.
