How to Create a Fan Scrapbook

Fans are the lifeblood of every aspiring musician or entertainer. Being a fan is a gift to any artist. A fun way to enjoy yourself as a fan, and be organized about it, is to create a fan scrapbook. Create one that includes memorabilia, photographs, magazine articles, newspaper clippings and concert goodies. Here's how to do just that!

Instructions

    • 1

Think about your favorite star. Her public persona should inform your choice of scrapbook. Marilyn Manson, Eminem and Olivia Newton-John would all call for books of very different sorts. Pick the one that reflects the personality and artistic output of your star.

    • 2

Decorate the cover with pictures that you own in duplicate. A cover can get worn, and you don't want to ruin a treasured photograph with shelf wear. A great idea is to use a picture of yourself with the celebrity -- if you have met him before!

    • 3

Organize your pages into categories. If your subject is a musician, devote a section at the start of your book to the cover art from her albums. When you share your scrapbook with others, this will give a person who isn't a fan a chance to see all of the artist's creativity. Most scrapbooks have pages that can be re-arranged, so you don't have to fret about future additions to the cover art.

    • 4

The second section should feature any personal memorabilia you may have. Concert tickets and programs and brochures featuring your artist are exciting when placed near the front of a book.

    • 5

Dedicate an entire section of the book to all the artist's interviews, magazine articles and newspaper clippings. This is how he has presented himself to the world, and including them is a must in a fan scrapbook.

    • 6

End the scrapbook with any photographs that you have of the artist. Personal photographs of the artist are fantastic, as are photographs taken at concerts. Photos that friends have given you are ideal for this section, too.

    • 7

Decorate the back cover with art and designs of your choice. The celebrity's face should probably appear somewhere within this back-cover design as well.

Tips & Warnings

  • Respect your favorite celebrity, and it is very likely that she will respect you in return. Follow common courtesy when approaching her for an autograph, and try not to do so when she is out and about on her free time.

  • Don't get too carried away with your scrapbook. Never invade the celebrity's privacy to get something you'd like to have in your book.
