How to Slingshot Mario in Super Mario Sunshine

Most people can play the entire Super Mario Sunshine game without realizing the trick to sling shotting Mario. This is a fun and creative way to get him from point A to point B when these two points may be far apart. So let's get ready to throw Mario.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Super Mario Sunshine Game
  • GameCube
  • One controller
  • Television

    How to Slingshot Mario in Super Mario Sunshine

  1. Step 1

    Find a level that has a tightrope line for Mario to walk across. These are featured in most of the levels, especially the first one.

  2. Step 2

    Jump onto the line so Mario is balanced on it.

  3. Step 3

    Press "B" to make Mario hang from the line with his hands.

  4. Step 4

    Point your spray nozzle forward and press "R" to spray. Mario will still be hanging from the line, but he will now be swinging. Press "R" again as many times as necessary for as long as necessary to get him swinging around the rope.

  5. Step 5

    Press "A" midswing to release Mario from the line and send him flying.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can practice this maneuver on Isle Delfino before you even enter a level.
