1
Take out your paper and pencil and create a plan. Having a plan on paper makes it much easier to assemble your project later. Draw your toilet paper roll first. Now decide what type of person you wish to create. Take a look at your everyday household resources and draw on your picture what you think you can use to create the person of your choice. For this example, you will learn how to create a toilet paper chef.

2
Get out your scissors and cut out the big pieces. For the chef you would need to cut out an apron and a big chef hat. Using white fabric would be perfect because you can draw on it with a black marker later. If you don't have white fabric see if you have an old sheet or pillow case you could cut up.

3
Glue your big pieces on first. Your markers are going to be used to fill in final decorations in the end. You can use a glue stick or a glue gun. Glue guns work the best on heavy fabrics. You will also want to use the glue gun if you are using buttons for the eyes in stead of fabric or felt.
-
4
Take out a pipe cleaner for the chef's mustache. If you don't have pipe cleaners, you can use string, yarn, or even just draw it in with your markers. Now take the pipe cleaner and bend it in the middle. Now curl it on each end to form your funny chef mustache.
-
5
Use your glue gun to glue the mustache in to place. Regular glue will not work so well on this step.
-
6
Double check if there are any other household items you can use to make your chef look better. If you used felt for eyes for example, you many want to add a colored bead to the middle of each eye to make the chef have an eye color verses just a black circle. You may want to draw a picture of a bowl and wire whisk to cut out and glue on to the chef's apron.
-
7
Get out your markers and add the finishing touches. Your chef needs a nose and a mouth. You might want to give him hands. Maybe your chef has freckles or one tooth. It's up to you. Be creative.

Tips & Warnings
If you do not have glue or a glue gun you can use a stapler. Your staples will show, but most children will just be happy that they got to create a craft.
Optional people you can create: firefighter, policeman, priest, Biblical character, mom, dad, baby sister, baby brother, judge, construction worker, etc.
Don't tell your children there is a right or wrong way to make their toilet paper person. Allowing your child to be creative is important for their confidence and growth.
