How to Use Yoshi In Ricco Harbor

In the Super Mario Sunshine Game for GameCube, Yoshi can be an incredible asset to get you through the game. In fact, on certain levels, he is absolutely necessary to pass the level. On the "Yoshi's Fruit Adventure" level in Ricco Harbor, you must find Yoshi, hatch the egg, and use him to get the shine sprite at the end of the level. It's challenging and fun...well worth your while!

How to Use Yoshi in Ricco Harbor

1. Go straight onto the boat ahead at the beginning of the "Yoshi's Fruit Adventure" level. Cross the boat and go to the left once you're back on land to the blue circle on the ground. Do a ground pound to go under the surface and go straight until you reach the next circle and press "A" to come back to the surface of the level.

2. Continue forward and to the left to approach the Yoshi egg. There will be a bubble above the egg that tells which fruit you must acquire to hatch the egg.

3. Go back to the large brick structures that say "Fruit" on them. Using side jumps and hovering techniques with your FLUDD device, go to the top of the structure to the button and do a ground pound to dispense fruit. You may have to go back and forth between structures a few times to dispense the correct fruit. Once you have the correct fruit, pick it up by pressing "B." Note that the spiky looking fruit is not available to pick up by hand and you must kick it. Take the fruit to Yoshi to hatch the egg.

4. Hop on Yoshi and take him past the vendors under umbrellas to the jumping fish. Spray a fish in midair by pressing "R." The fish will turn into a platform, so jump on the platform at this point.

5. Continue to turn the fish into platforms to get to the end of the level, where the yellow substance that resembles lava is blocking you from getting to the shine sprite. Use the Yoshi spray by pressing "R" once more to dissolve the lava and allow you to get to the shine sprite.

Tips & Warnings

• This is a hard level, so don't give up!
• Notice that the fish are jumping a certain direction, and when they turn into platforms, the platforms will go the same direction.
• Don't fall into the water with Yoshi or he will dissolve. He will also dissolve if he runs out of juice, so keep an eye on the juice meter on the screen.
• If Yoshi is running low on juice, have him eat some fruit to replenish his supply. Press "B" when you are riding Yoshi and fruit is nearby to feed him.
