Step 1
This will remove Microsofts Instant Messenger (MSN). This wotked in WinXP Pro, but may work on others....
So, go to START-->RUN -
Step 2
copy and paste the following:
QUOTE
RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove -
Step 3
Clink ok. No more msn process lwink.gif

on 8/1/2008 Another trick I use is to simply rename the messenger.exe file to messenger.ex1 in the program files folder. Just say okay when it warns that you are changing the extension type. This method will also kill messenger and all the processes. If you decide you want to use again one day then just rename it back to messenger.exe and it will run like normal. No uninstall or reinstall necessary.
