The T Birds are those tough guys in "Grease." "Grease" continues to delight audiences internationally, and each new generation falls in love with it. The leader of the T Bird is Danny Zuko, played by John Travolta in the famous film. You could choose to dress up as Danny, or you could get a group of your guy friends together. You could all go on the town as a T Bird. Here's how you can create your own T Bird costume.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Leather-like or "Pleather" Black Jacket
  • Silver Fabric Paint
  • Black T-Shirt
  • Black Pants
  • Black Shoes
  • Hair Grease
  • Styling Gel
  1. Step 1

Get an old black "pleather" jacket. It should have a leather look, but you're going to be doing some decorating. Get a jacket from a thrift shop, or use an old black jacket that is ready for retirement from your wardrobe.

  2. Step 2

Cover a table or floor space with newspapers. Lay the jacket over the newspaper.

  3. Step 3

Paint the word T Bird on your jacket. The "T" should be large, with the "bird" written in smaller print.

  4. Step 4

Paint a bird symbol on your jacket.

  5. Step 5

    Let the jacket dry overnight.

  6. Step 6

Try on the jacket, and find the perfect pair of black pants to match. They should be somewhat form fitting, and be the exact shade of black as the jacket.

  7. Step 7

Put on black shoes and socks to complete the costume.

  8. Step 8

Put lots of hair grease and styling gel in your hair. You need to have it perfectly kept in place and puffed up to be a real T-Bird! You're a Greaser now, after all.

Tips & Warnings
  • Ask your girlfriend to be Sandy for a fun touch to the costume!
  • Don't act too tough while in costume. The most appealing thing about those tough T-Birds is that they have a heart of gold.
