Meditation is ideal for releasing stress and for relaxation. Meditation is a systematic process that helps train the body, breath, mind and senses to build a stable relationship with the world around us.
Approximately 1 hour daily-recomended (or as often as desired)
An open mind
A personal reason for meditation
Step1
Sit quietly in a comfortable place
Step2
Sit up maintaining a steady posture to elongate the spine.
Step3
Focus on clearing your mind of outside distractions and intrusive thoughts.
Step4
Now focus on your breath. Focus on taking a nice deep long inhalation and releasing it s-l-o-w-l-y for the maximum benefit. Doing this a few times will help the body and mind to relax. (5-7 repetitions is suggested but not necessary)
Step5
Now allow your breath to flow naturally and have it come and go at will, focusing on its steady pace.
Step6
Allow your mind and thoughts to also come and go at will. (There is no time limit, take as much time as YOU would like) This is an effortless step and with practice this will become easier.
Step7
Following the above steps will promote healthy positive thoughts and a relaxation of body, mind and soul.
Tips & Warnings
No two bodies are alike, (thank goodness) so everyone will find their quiet time within their minds at their own pace.
The more you are loyal to your practice of meditation the longer you will be able to meditate. In the beginning you will find you may only be able to meditate for a short period of time. This is fine as meditation is a commitment to self. Like any commitment we make, it takes time and effort to reap the rewards. In time you will be able to quiet your mind and renew your soul by finding peace within.
Meditation is a healthy addiction for mind, body and soul.

This reminds me of the old INXS song Mediate. I guess I'll try to meditate on the song Mediate, and appreciate, fascinate, reinstate and liberate. : )
