Ask Someone Out on a Date

Asking out that special someone is sometimes difficult. There are plenty of romantic ways to ask someone out without feeling goofy .

From Quick Guide: Singles Guide
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Greeting Card

    Buy a Card

  1. Step 1

Purchase a sweet, but non-intimidating greeting card. Make sure that it does not say "I love you" on it. You are asking someone out, not asking them to marry you.

  2. Step 2

Write a note on the inside of the card. It should say something like, "Guess who wants to take you to dinner? To find out, answer my call at 8 pm." Do not sign the card.

  3. Step 3

Leave the greeting card on the person's car while she is at work. You may have to sneak around a little bit so that she doesn't see you at her car.

  4. Step 4

Wait until the appointed time and call the person's cell phone. Say something like, "Hi, it's (your name). I hope you liked my card. Would you have dinner with me?"

  5. Step 5

Listen to what she has to say and respond politely even if she turns you down. If the person says yes, keep your conversation quick and to the point. Decide where and when the date will be and then thank her for saying 'yes'.

Tips & Warnings
  • Always be polite when asking someone out on a date.
  • If you are the one doing the asking, then you should be the one doing the paying.
  • Don't be surprised or offended if the person you asked out wants to drive separately, in her own vehicle, to the date. This is a simple precautionary issue and should not be taken personally.
