How to Make Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookies

Just because you go Vegan doesn't mean you have to a limited, restricted diet. Although the health benefits of veganism are becoming more known, even vegans must have their sweets. Modifying recipes is the key. For instance, old favorites like chocolate chip cookies made without dairy such as butter and milk might seem difficult, but with some substitutions, you can create this classic cookie that is 100% vegan and delicious.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup carob chips
  • 1 cup sugar (raw tastes better)
  • 1/2 cup canola oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 mixing bowls, large and small
  • Baking sheet lined with tinfoil
  • Tablespoon

    How to Make Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookies

  1. Step 1

    Preheat oven to 350.

  2. Step 2

    In large mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt. Once will mixed, add chips. Set aside.

  3. Step 3

    In smaller bowl, combine sugar and oil until well mixed. Then add vanilla and mix. Then add the water and mix.

  4. Step 4

    Fold wet ingredients into dry ingredients in larger bowl and mix thoroughly but gently.

  5. Step 5

    Take a tablespoon and spoon a portion onto baking sheets. Bake for 5 minutes and then flip. Bake another 5 minutes and remove from oven while semi-soft (they'll harden as they cool.) Allow to cool for at least 20 minutes, Makes two dozen.
