Make sure there is a comfortable bed for your guests to sleep in. If the bed is older and uncomfortable they are gonna be unhappy and very tired the next day. They will not want to spend the night at your house again if they do not sleep well. Furniture in there like a comfortable chair a night stand and even a dresser so they can unpack if they are staying longer than a couple days will be very inviting.

Clean room and linens before the guests arrive nobody wants to sleep on dirty linens. Using air freshener for the rest of the room will help make sure it is nice but not one that is too over bearing. If possible make sure the pillows are also clean along with the floor and everything else.

Buy an alarm clock and allow your guests to know what time it it. If they have to be up early for something they can set the alarm and you will not have to go bothering them early in the morning just to wake them up. This will give them some comforts of home.

Set up a TV in the guest bedroom watching TV before turning out the lights is something that most people like to do before going to bed. Even if you do not like the TV in your room your guests might. This will give them their relaxation time before bed and it will also help them if they have children to get them to relax.

Keep noise to minimum because guests enjoy peace and quiet. Privacy is very important too. If possible have the guest room in an area of the house that is not very noisey. Doing this will help your guests to unwind a lot more and relax. Try to keep your children and animals away from the room also.
