Things You'll Need:
- a bike
- a helmet and pads
- A pad to land on (if you have one)
-
Step 1
Sit down and make a list of the tricks you would like to perform: pop-a-wheelies, no hands, peeling out, riding on the seat, pegs, etc. (for the advanced riders Google the official and more advanced tricks and terms)
-
Step 2
Strap on your helmet and pads, making sure they are tight. If you nod your head hard and they shift even in the slightest bit, you need to tighten them some more. It could save you from serious injury.
-
Step 3
Pick a trick to try first: pop-a-wheelie, then go outside and practice pulling up on your handlebar. If it helps, place a small ramp or even twig down on the road to go over. This will give them that added bump as they drive over it and allow them to get some air.
-
Step 4
To turn that wheelie into a riding wheelie, simply get your air, then begin pedaling as fast as you can, leaning back to keep the balance.
-
Step 5
To peel out, simply ride as fast as you can toward a gravel pit then slam on the breaks and turn the bike inward. Make sure to put one foot down so you do not fall down onto one side.
-
Step 6
To ride the pegs, middle bar, or seat, or to ride with no hands, speed is the key. Ride as fast as you can then at the peak of speeds slowly move into position, either onto your seat, keeping your hands on the bars (don't try not using hands on this until you have had lots of practice and have someone to spot you); onto the middle bar or pegs; or by lifting your hands from the handle bar. While riding with no hands, continue to pedal, keeping a steady speed.
-
Step 7
Build a ramp, but make sure you have a pad below, covering the space between the two ramps or the take-off and landing spot.
-
Step 8
Make sure you maintain speed and balance, and always have someone nearby to help, as you ride up half pipes, in clover bowls, or half bowls,
