Using Aluminum Foil around the House

  1. Step 1

Use foil to cover a casserole in the oven.

  2. Step 2

Use it on the grill to cook foods or from getting too browned or burned.

  3. Step 3

Tent meat with foil after removing it from the oven to keep it warm while it rests.

  4. Step 4

Cover a turkey breast in the oven if it is getting too brown. The foil will keep it from browning further.

  5. Step 5

Cover a frosted cake with foil before taking it somewhere. It stays on much better than plastic wrap.

  6. Step 6

Crumple a piece of foil to clean the barbecue grill.

  7. Step 7

Put a piece of foil down on the ironing board for fabrics that cannot take much heat. Lay the garment over the foil, and hold the steaming iron two inches above it. The wrinkles will disappear.

Tips & Warnings
  • Aluminum foil can be recycled. Simply wash it off and toss in the recycling bin.
  • It can also be reused.
  • Aluminum foil conducts heat well. It gets as hot as a pan.
  • When using foil outdoors, make sure that you don't look at it in the sun. It could hurt your eyes.
