    • cement mixture

    • clamps
    • stakes
    • mixing container
    • water
    • hammer
    • chalk
    • wiring
      • 1

Decide what kind of backyard design you want. Plan it out on paper so you have a guide as to where everything will go.

      • 2

Draw out lines in the dirt with chalk where the cement patio will be. Measure it out so you are exact and won't want to change it later.

      • 3

Build forms for pouring the cement with wooden planks and wiring. Hammer in stakes to support the planks. If additional support is needed use clamps to secure the building forms.

Mix the cement mixture according to the package directions in a large container. Wet the pour area with water then pour the cement in. Tap the edges of the forms to remove any bubbles and even it out.

Smooth the surface with a two by four plank and allow it to set. Mist the area with water two to three times a day to maintain proper drying. Once the cement is completely dry remove the building forms. That's it! You just made a patio!

    Tips & Warnings

    • Allow the cement to fully set before removing the building forms
