Do you have those teeny tiny flies cruising around the kitchen? They probably hitched a ride home with you on some of the produce you just bought. Though they won't really harm you, they aren't a welcome guest and they multiply quickly. Luckily there is a very simple homemade trap you can make to dispose of the unwanted critters fast.

From Quick Guide: Get Rid of Fruit Flies
Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Screw the lid on a jar tightly and grasp the jar firmly in your hand.

  2. Step 2

Punch several holes in the lid of the jar with a screwdriver. Make sure the holes are large enough for the fruit flies to crawl through, but not too big as to where they'll be able to fly out.

  3. Step 3

Remove the lid and fill the jar about halfway with apple cider.

  4. Step 4

Screw the lid back on and place the jar in the area where the flies are grouped. Usually the kitchen, but sometimes they emerge in the bathroom, too. The flies will crawl through the holes, lured by the sugar and apple scent of the cider, but will be unable to escape.
