Most alternative weekly newspapers have extensive listings of upcoming events and writeups of hot new bands to watch.

Indie rock girls often like classic film and low budget movies. Read your local newspaper or alternative weekly’s film section. Most major cities have repertory cinemas that show new prints of classics on smaller screens. Museums and arts centers also have film programs which you can pick up for free in the lobby.
