How to Build Pull-up Bar
If you're looking for at-home workout solutions, the pull-up bar is a useful piece of equipment that aids in a complete upper-body workout. Simple in structure --- it usually consists of just a mounted bar --- you can spend less than $20 for a workout that you can perform just about anywhere in your home. The pull-up focuses in on the biceps and shoulders intensively. So if you dedicate yourself with a little handiness, some hard work and a great routine, you can have the upper body you've been wanting in relatively little time.
Things You'll Need

1
Fit the end joints on the plumbing pipe to make sure they fit. Remove the joints and add a strong glue such as Gorilla Glue around the thread to permanently secure the joints to the plumbing pipe. Screw on the joints. The joint will act as the curved piece of the bar that is connected to the wood mount. The bar portion is complete.

2
Attach the bar to the wood beam by screwing screws into the holes perforated in the base of the thread joints.

Find a solid structure, like a support beam in the ceiling of your home, and mount the wood beam to the support beam by screwing the screws through the two, using the electric screwdriver. Test the durability of the pull-up bar by performing a few pull-ups. If the bar doesn't feel secure, add more screws through the wood beam and the support beam.
