The Canon XH A1 video camera provides a convenient "ease of use" with its Automatic mode. The programmed Auto Exposure modes provide advanced automated recording techniques to give you professional results in various shooting conditions. In Auto mode, the camera automatically controls camera adjustments, allowing you to point and film.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Press the "Lock" button.

  2. Step 2

Turn the "Power" dial, located on the left side of the camera.

  3. Step 3

Set the "Power" dial on "A" for Auto. The letter A in a little box will appear in your screen when you look through the camera’s viewfinder. This indicates you are in Auto mode.

Tips & Warnings
  • Do some test footage in Auto mode so you become familiar with what you can--and can't--film at these settings. That way, when it comes to the real thing, you'll know whether you want to use the Auto mode or adjust the settings manually.
  • Do not change the mode settings while recording since the brightness of the image may change abruptly.
