How to Set a Constant Zoom on a Canon XH A1

You can control the Canon XH A1 camcorder’s zoom function from either the side grip or carrying handle. The camcorder gives you a range of choices in zooming, ranging from W (wide angle) to T (telephoto), as well as the ability to set your zoom to constant or variable, and choose your different zoom speeds. The following steps explain how to set the zoom to constant.

    Setting the Constant Zoom on the Canon XH A1

  1. Step 1

    Locate the zoom speed switch. This is located on the right side of the camera, just behind the top of the grip.

  2. Step 2

    Set the zoom speed switch to C (constant). With this setting, the zoom speed will not change, but you can select your zoom speed level at which you wish to remain constant.

  3. Step 3

    Select your preferred zoom speed level. There are 16 levels. The zoom speed dial is located on the right side of the camera, at the top of the grip’s handle.
