Using just a barbell, stand up straight and place the barbell across your shoulders.

Slowly bend forward to stretch the muscles in your back. You should bend at the waist with your knees slightly bent. Hold this stretch for three seconds and return to the starting position. Repeat 10 times.

For your next exercise, place the barbell in front of you.

Spread your legs about hip distance apart.

Bend at the waist to pick up the barbell.

Lift the barbell to your chest while bending at the waist. This will help work lower and middle back muscles. Slowly lower the barbell to the ground. Repeat 10 times.
