Things You'll Need:
- Piano
- Guests
- Food
- Lighting
-
Step 1
If you do not want to play the piano, you can have one of your guests play or even hire a piano player to play at your party.
-
Step 2
Narrow down the songs that will be played to the most popular, such as New York New York, or the Banana Boat Song. Most everyone has heard these songs and knows the words to the music.
-
Step 3
Highlight the piano by bringing it away from the wall so that people can gather on all sides of the piano.
-
Step 4
Provide plenty of bar stools for people that would rather sit than lean on the piano and plenty of coasters for people to set their drinks on. You may even want to put a colorful table cloth on the piano to help protect it.
-
Step 5
If you have a bar, place it around the back of the piano so the guests can see the piano player and vice versa, just like you would see at a piano bar.
-
Step 6
Find the lyrics to the music that you have chosen on your computer by browsing the internet and make copies for your guests.
-
Step 7
Add lighting around the piano so that guests can see the music and make sure the pianist has lighting, too.
-
Step 8
Have a table of food and refreshments near by to encourage guests to move around the room.
