How to Make Watermelon Smoothies
Smoothies have become increasingly popular since they burst onto the American scene during the late 1960s. They are even sold pre-bottled at supermarkets. If you ever wanted to save some money, and add a few new flavors to your smoothie repertoire, learning to make smoothies is the first step. It just so turns out that watermelon smoothies aren't a bad foot to get started on. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- 2 cups seeded watermelon, chunked
- 1/2 cup plain or lemon yogurt
- 1 1/2 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- 1 cup ice, cracked
- 1/8 tsp almond extract
- Blender OR
- Food processor

Make Watermelon Smoothies

Put watermelon, yogurt, and ice into blender or food processor. A blender will work better as it will make the drink easier to pour.

Pour sugar, ginger, and almond extract over the other ingredients already in the blender.

Turn on blender. Do not start on the highest setting (usually "whip"). A medium setting will usually do the job, dependent upon the blender.

Continue blending until smoothie is desired consistency. Use the pulse setting to ensure you get just the consistency you desire.

Serve in tall glasses with long straws. Enjoy.

Get adventurous. Try out different flavors of yogurt to get a different taste.
For more servings, just double the amount of each ingredient you use.
