Many people dream of having fabulous and glowing skin. There are so many things that can contribute to blemishes, dry or oily skin and/or acne. Follow these steps to find out what you can do in your every day life to get clear skin.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

How to Get Clear Skin

Step1
Drink your water. Drink the recommended eight to 10 glasses of water each day to keep your skin clear. Water is constantly flushing out toxins which can come to the surface in forms of breakouts or acne if not flushed out of your body.
Step2
Sleep: Make certain that you get the recommended amount of sleep each night. This means seven to nine hours for the average person. Lack of sleep can leave you with dark circles under your eyes and does not let your body release toxins (toxin release, among other things, is what happens when you sleep). The proper amount of sleep also reduces stress and stress can cause breakouts.
Step3
Wash your face daily. Twice, if you are so inclined. A clean face allows your skin to breathe and repair itself. Find a cleansing product or regimen that works for you and stick with it. Many skin care manufacturers make lines of cleansing products that are designed to be used in conjunction with each other. Wearing sunscreen or some sort of SPF on a daily basis can prevent blemishes or dry spots. Check to make certain that your cleansing products have an SPF in them.
Step4
Be gentle and kind to your face. It is truly exhilarating to pick that blackhead and have a nice ooze of whatever was in it to show on your fingertip but it is bad for your skin. Picking and squeezing only forces dirt and bacteria back down into your skin which can result in additional breakouts. It can also result in scarring.
Step5
Know that covering your skin when using grooming products can also save you from additional breakouts. Hair products, perfumes and body sprays all have ingredients that should not be on your skin and which can clog your pores. So either wash your face afterwards or cover your skin when using these products.
Step6
Change your sheets. Each night when you sleep, oil, dirt and bacteria from your body collects on your sheets and pillowcase. This is put back on your body the next night when you sleep. Changing your sheets often will help prevent this.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you have major acne, clear skin may always be a challenge for you. It is best to consult with a dermatologist to find acne products that will work best for you.
  • Be careful of changing skin products or using different products from various brands. Most manufacturers make products that are designed to work together such as a toner and astrigent. Using different brands may mean that you are using a product with an ingredient working against another product's ingredients. This can definitely cause clogged pores and breakouts.
