Who doesn't love ice cream? The creamy texture and smooth flavors make this dessert simply irresistible. What isn't appealing about this dessert is the price because ice cream is unfortunately very expensive. Fortunately, there are several ways you can save money on this cool treat.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Go with store-bought. Going to the local ice cream shop costs much more than buying a store-bought product. Even homemade ice cream is more expensive than store-bought. When it comes to this creamy dessert, the grocery store really will save you money.

  2. Step 2

Stock up on sale items. When your favorite brands of ice cream go on sale, be sure to stock up. Those high-quality pints can cost quite a bit. If you wait for a sale though, you'll save a lot of money.

  3. Step 3

Try different brands. You may have one favorite brand, but try others. You never know what something tastes like until you try it. Just because a brand is less expensive doesn't mean it's poor quality. Even some generic brands have great flavor.

  4. Step 4

Buy novelties. You can often find novelties on sale at amazing prices. Novelties also encourage portion control, which will save you more money in the long run.

  5. Step 5

Visit company websites. Company websites often have newsletters that include coupons. Be sure to sign up and take advantage of the promotions that they offer.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be sure to really stock up when your favorite brands are buy one get one free.
  • When stocking up, pay close attention to expiration dates.
