How to Clean for Holiday Guests

Holidays are a time for overnight visits from guests. How can you get your home clean for your holiday guests so they feel comfortable away from home? A clean home will keep visitors happy and your house as number one.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • vacuum
  • broom and dust pan
  • clean rags
  • clean bath and face and wash towels
  • clean bed sheets and pillows
  • extra blankets
  • tile, tub and counter cleanser
  1. Step 1

    Vacuum the bedroom floor/carpet and put away any items sitting on the floor of the guest bedroom.

  2. Step 2

    Put clean sheets and pillow cases on your guest's bed. Shake out blankets on the bed as well.Fold a clean bath towel, face towel and a washcloth and place on your guest's bed.

  3. Step 3

    Make sure that the tub, toilet and bathroom floor are clean and free of loose hairs and dirt. Provide a new bar of soap and and travel shampoos in the bathroom for your guests to use. Also leave a night light on in the bathroom so they can find their way in the dark.

  4. Step 4

    Clean up any dirty dishes in the kitchen sink and sweep the kitchen floor.

  5. Step 5

    Vacuum the living and dinning room areas and pick up any personal items that you would not want your guests to see and place them in your bedroom.

Tips & Warnings
  • Ask your guest if there is anything you can provide to make them feel more comfortable.
  • It is always nice to provide your guest with an extra blanket at night.
