  • Measuring tape

  1. How to Hang Heavy Pictures and Mirrors On Sheetrock

      Purchase Monkey Hook Picture Hangers, which will safely hang pictures and mirrors that weigh up to 50 pounds.

      Determine exactly where you want to hang your picture or mirror. Measure out the space and mark the spot(s) where you will place your Monkey Hook Picture Hangers with a pencil. If your item weighs more than 50 pounds, you will need to use two hangers.

      Hold the Monkey Hook between your thumb and forefinger with the hook pointed downward and inward as shown in the picture.

      Press the end of the Monkey Hook one-quarter inch above the spot that you have marked for your picture or mirror, aligning the shaft perpendicular to the wall.

      Twist the end back and forth as you push the hood into the sheetrock until the hook fully penetrates the wall.
