From Quick Guide: Omelet Recipes
Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 eggs per person
  • Quart size freezer bags
  • Desired ingredients such as cheese, ham, onion, chopped tomato, chopped green pepper
  • Permanent marker
  • Large Pot of water
  1. Step 1

Set up a counter with bowls of various omelet ingredients. The most common ingredients include cheese, ham, chopped tomato, onion, chopped green pepper, mushrooms, and sausage.

  2. Step 2

Place the largest pot or kettle you own on the stove. Fill it with water and set the stove to high. You want the water to get to a rolling boil. This could take a while.

  3. Step 3

Give each guest their own quart sized freezer bag. Have each person write their name on the top of the bag in permanent marker. This is how you will distinguish each omelet while they cook.

  4. Step 4

Crack two eggs into each guest's freezer bag and have them squeeze the eggs to combine them. Then, have each person walk by the counter of ingredients to create their own personalized omelet.

  5. Step 5

Instruct each guest to squeeze all of the air out of their omelet bag and seal it shut. If their is any air, it will balloon up while the omelet cooks.

  6. Step 6

Check to make sure the pot of water is at a rolling boil. Once it is, each guest can place their omelets in the pot. The omelets should cook for exactly 13 minutes, no more and no less.

  7. Step 7

Take the bags out of the water and hand to their respective owners. Instruct your guests to open their bags and let the omelet slide right out. Voila. It should come out in one large, omelet shaped piece.

Tips & Warnings
  • Serve with coffee cake or a bowl of fruit for a lovely breakfast or brunch.
  • Make sure you have a large enough pot of water so that the bags do not touch the edge. If they do, your bags will melt.
