    How to Stop Feeling Jealous

  1. Step 1

Decipher the reason. Knowing what is making you jealous will be the first step to stopping it. It could be something your partner did or is doing or even something that happens outside of the relationship. By writing down the times you feel most jealous you can better determine the main cause of your jealousy.

  2. Step 2

Boost your self esteem. Jealousy in most cases, is the result of low self esteem. You can boost your self esteem to overcome jealousy. Get your hair done, join a gym or other fitness class/program, get a makeover, etc. Whatever helps you feel better about yourself is what you want to do.

  3. Step 3

Boost your confidence. Low self confidence is similar to having low self esteem. You must believe in yourself and know that you are a good person. In order to get the most out of your life you need to be whomever it is you always wanted to be. Do what you need to do in order to become just that.

  4. Step 4

Conquer jealousy in steps. More than likely you experience multiple reasons for your jealousy. You can try battling them all at once but this can sometimes be too challenging. Conquer them one at a time. You will learn and grow from doing it this way as well.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you keep feeling yourself becoming jealous again it is time to isolate whatever it is that makes you feel jealous. Stay away from it to help you overcome that jealous feeling.
  • If it's something your partner does that makes you feel jealous then discuss it with them. Facing the problem or issue head-on will give you faster and more effective results.

on 7/15/2008 Extreme jealousy is almost always a sign of low self-esteem, although a little jealousy is normal. Whatever the case, it's very unattractive to the other person so you can feel it, but never, ever show it.
