How to Make an Herbal Vinegar
Herbal vinegars are a great way to spruce up a salad or to use in cooking. They are easy to make and yummy to eat. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Vinegar, glass bottle (empty wine or liquor bottles are best), lid/cork/cap, herbs of choice.

Take your liquor or wine bottle and soak it in a sink full of hot soapy water with one teaspoon of bleach. Wash it with a baby bottle cleaner then rinse thoroughly.

Clean your fresh herbs and then put them into the bottle.

Fill the bottle with vinegar, leaving about an inch of the neck empty.

Cork or cap the bottle, then leave it in a sunlit window for a week.

Tips & Warnings
When choosing herbs, make sure they are complementary in tastes.
You can also take the herbal vinegar and add in some oil for a vinegar and oil dressing.
You can decorate the bottle cap with cloth and ribbon, or a wax dip for a tighter seal.
Always make sure the bottles and herbs are thoroughly washed.
Make sure that the bottle is well sealed.
