How to Make Your Own Fragrance Oils

Essential oils are used in aromatherapy to help reduce stress, increase mental focus and the promotion of sleep. If you visit a health food store, you'll notice how expensive essential oils are. The good news is you can easily make these oils at home and customize your own blend.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Slow cooker
  • Unbleached cheese cloth
  • 2 cups jojoba oil
  • 1 ounce dried herbs such as lavender or rosemary

    Start Mixing

  1. Step 1

    Mix the dried herbs and oil into the slow cooker and stir thoroughly.

  2. Step 2

    Turn your slow cooker on the lowest heat. The temperature should rise to about 130-140 degrees.

  3. Step 3

    Cook this mixture for about five to six hours. Strain the cooled mixture with the cheesecloth into a glass container.

Tips & Warnings
  • Store your blended oil in a cool, dark area.
  • These oils are for use on the skin and are never to be ingested.
  • The shelf life of these oils is about four months.
